My name is Jessica and I have been developing BTrue Naturals over the past couple of years. I am a former athlete who is extremely active and into health and nutrition. Over the years I have developed a passion for eating healthy and keeping myself as healthy as possible. I started researching about cleansing and detoxifying the body when I stumbbled across tons of information about synthetic chemicals. There are 80,000 synthetic chemicals currently registered by the EPA currently in use today. I began finding out how much humans are exposed to toxin in our everyday lives. It seems that every corner we turn we are exposed to a synthetic chemicals.
One major method of exposure to synthetic chemicals and toxins is through our personal care items such as skin care products, facial care products, hair care products and cosmetics. It never even crossed my mind that by washing my face I would be exposing my body to a handful of synthetic ingredients some of which can have severe health implications if exposed to them for a long period of time. Some of these synthetic chemicals that are being used in our products are known or suspected of having carcinogens, mutagens, or reproductive toxicants. The European Union has banned 1,100 synthetic chemicals to be used in cosmetics, while the FDA has only banned the use of 9!
These synthetic chemicals are still being used in skin care products and cosmetics despite the health concerns they have. I found that there are few regulations placed on companies and manufactures to test their products for safety before it hits the shelves for use consumers to buy and use. The cosmetic industry for the most part is a self regulated industry. This is a scary thought seeing how many of the ingredients are untested and the few that have been tested are showing to have major health implications.
At BTrue Naturals you can read more about natural skin care products and the affects of toxins on the body. Please take care of yourself and your family. This is an area of concern that people need to become aware of. It is not only affecting us but the environment as well.
